Loving Louie and the Case of the Slipped Disk

Meet Louie! This good boy is a zero to 100 dog: his whole life, he’s loved to zoom around outside as much as he loves chilling with his pawrents on the couch! He loves blueberries and pumpkin. Whenever people come to visit, he assumes everyone is there to see him (and honestly, why wouldn’t they be?!). He is a sweet angel and loves sleeping with his owners. His family is very dedicated and love him very much, making sure he eats healthy and has a great quality of life at home.

Louie originally presented to our friend Dr. Karson at Green Acres Veterinary Center for very bad neck pain due to a slipped disk. His owners had tried medical management, which hadn’t worked, and they got denied for Care Credit and were thus unable to afford his imaging and surgery. When Louie’s application came to The Hugo Foundation’s desk, we were so excited to be able to grant $2,000 toward Louie’s surgery. Before surgery, Louie couldn’t walk and was in constant pain. Now, he’s well on his way to recovery and being his zero to 100 self again!
