Meet Leela!
This gorgeous 5-year-old goofball loves nothing more than soaking up the summer sun and playing outside with her wonderful family. But one day, her mom noticed something wasn’t right — increased urination, shivering while lying down, and signs of tenesmus. Trusting her instincts, she brought Leela to our friends at Creekview Veterinary Center, where Dr. Johny diagnosed pyometra — a life-threatening infection of the uterus that required emergency surgery.
Because of this community, we were able to contribute over $2,000 toward Leela’s surgery.
When you come to one of our Paint & Sip nights or grab a ticket for our Lucky Dog Raffle, this is what you’re supporting. Families staying whole. Second chances. Dogs like Leela. 💕
Leela’s mom shared: “We are so thankful for all of the kind and caring staff at Creekview that helped during this very scary day. She is healing so well, and the staff and doctor were there every step of the way to answer our questions and put my mind at ease during her recovery. We wouldn’t have our girl here today if it weren’t for all of you and the kindness of the donors to The Hugo Foundation. Thank you for keeping our girl alive and our family complete.”
