Cute Kitty and the Case of Pyometra

Meet Kitty! This beautiful 4-year-old cat is unbelievably sweet, and a favorite patient among our friends at Grand Island Animal Hospital. She recently had some troubles after developing Pyometra – a dangerous uterine infection that can be fatal if left untreated.

Pyometra treatment often requires major surgery, which can incur unexpected costs for pet parents. Grand Island Animal Hospital told Kitty’s family about The Hugo Foundation, and after filling out an application, we were able to contribute $1,800 so Kitty could have the life-saving surgery she needed to safely recover and get back to her sweet self.

Kitty’s mom recently made a donation back to The Hugo Foundation so we could help more pets across Western New York. When speaking about Kitty, she said: “She wouldn’t have lived without you. She’s our family. She’s an extremely nice and smart cat.” We’re so glad that Kitty is “feline” good again!
