Meet Ryder! At just under 4 months old, Ryder is your average puppy – sweet as can be, full of wiggles, and finally settling into the joy of his new forever home! Every day was an adventure as he learned what it meant to be loved, safe, and free to explore the world with puppy curiosity.
Life was just beginning for this little one when tragedy struck last week: a rollover car accident ejected him from the car window, leaving him in urgent need of medical care! He was rushed to our friends at
Green Acres Veterinary Center, where he was diagnosed with a fractured right tibia and fibula, with possible growth plate injury and organ trauma. This poor boy was in a lot of pain and needed specialized surgery.
Emergency veterinary care can be expensive for pet owners, let alone all the other stresses following such a serious car accident. After Ryder’s loving family submitted an application, The Hugo Foundation was proud to help fund his surgery so he could get the best possible care.
Just a few hours after surgery, Ryder was already back to his puppy antics – rolling around, trying to play with the staff, and ready to go back home to recover with his family. We are so happy to have helped this baby to get back to living his best life!
